Unnamed Species
A vaguely feline, bipedal species covered in dense fur that ranges from coarse to smooth. Capable of higher-level thinking, but more clever than outright intelligent. They are thought to be benevolent and intolerant of conflict, to the point of being not necessarily submissive or subservient but using their negotiation skills to ease out of situations. Not much else is known about this species.
The only known location this species has been found in is on a spaceship. Home-world details are unknown, except for speculations that it is cold and perhaps of a lighter gravity than Earth.
This species is tall, a gentle giant. They have a heavier build than most bipedal creatures, packed with bone and muscle. Their faces are reminiscent of big cats, but the muzzle has no stop. The eyes are at an angle and are slitted. The ears are very tall with protective tufts of fur inside for insulation. They have whiskers of a sort, but they are generally pressed into the fur of the face and translucent. When aroused or upset, they come out and are wider at the tips, allowing for more sensation. The nose is closer to nostrils that open and close in a slit, flap-like manner, but have protective skin surrounding it. Unlike Earth cats they do not give off moisture and are only so fur doesn't get inhaled and for ease of cleaning.
From the head down, there is a thick mane and arms that have a joint quite high up. The hands stay in this "closed" sort of position--the finger joints are closer together and folded until needed, in which case they are stretched with ease. Pads cover a portion of the palm and the upper half of the digits, topped with a hard nail. The legs are big and bulky, feet covered in fur similar to a rabbit. The fur helps keep traction and warmth on cold, slippery surfaces, able to extend for grip. There are hard nails on the toe digits, indistinguishable when folded. The color is unknown, but can be interpreted as black and white for the sake of simplicity. Teeth are also similar to cats, save for the fact that they are grooved and thinner but still strong. The blood in this species is a mid grey.
Since no other member of this species is known or truly desired, one may think that this species is relatively solitary with little to no need for community as a species.

Our true form is not necessarily something physical or visual, but can be related in terms of a black sphere that emits a sort of gravitational force that holds the information together, and shadow tendrils that constantly reach out for new information. Some of us retain aspects of incarnated beings that we manage to make a deep connection with during our own physical incarnations, which for me takes the form of a silver string that weaves through and around my core black sphere, but that's a product of experiences rather than an integral part of our species, nurture as opposed to nature.
There is a single sense that combines aspects of tactile, sonic, and emotional, that can be called resonance, vibration, or frequency. My resonating frequency is E Diminished. That's the closest we come to names in our "native tongue". Every portion of our being is simultaneously a sense organ, manipulative appendage, and method of communication and interaction with others of our kind. When not physically incarnated, we interact with physical beings through intuition and inspiration, and generally "creative brain" thought processes.
Locomotion is generally accomplished similarly to jellyfish, simply floating on the currents of gravity and vacuum in the vast void of space between stars and galaxies, and letting the currents carry us where it will. When we do make a decision to propel ourselves in a particular direction it is generally more of a "willing" thing, a natural process of moving towards something that catches our interest.
Diet, Sex, and reproduction are essentially combined in a single process. There is a sensation that can be likened to a combination of hunger and arousal, the basic thought being that this other entity contains some quality that I would like to possess more of. And if the feeling is mutual, we would join together and become one. Should the entity become too complex to maintain a sense of cohesion, it would split off into multiple smaller entities. But always retaining the core sphere.
